The Aveda Institute method was founded in the 1980's with the goal of combining the best beauty professionals. The schools create stimulating, interactive learning that offer a comprehensive program. Blending basic theory and practical experience in a real life salon environment with plant based Aveda products encompasses a complete system of care.

Carsten Wilms was one of the core members of this fraternity, of soon to be the most respected educators in the beauty industry. At the same time, each of these members of the Aveda Institutes has retained their own identity; Carsten Wilms being the only member in the group teaching exclusively the Carsten Cutting Technique.

Through his affiliation with Intercoiffure, and fashion photography, Carsten stays in close communiqué with fashion. Between the Carsten Institute and salons, he has established a synergy of education and salon systems.
