Carsten Institute of New York is an international education center for cosmetology. The multicultural institute enrolls students from Asia, Europe, and South America. The New York campus is licensed by the New York state department of education, as well as the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Art and Sciences (NACCAS). The New York Institute offers review refresher courses for licensed cosmetologists, as well as advanced training on specific dates with Yves Durif and Carsten Wilms.

The institute teaches exclusively the French Haircutting Technique, a technique used by some of the most successful hairdressers in New York City, like Frédéric Fekkai, Yves Durif, Marc Garrison, and Alain Pinon of Salon AKS.

In New York City the cosmetology program is also offered in Spanish.
